Dereka’s Story
Dereka Delilah-Danyelle grew up in Baton Rouge, where she graduated from Southern Lab High School.. She studied Biology at Southern University A&M College and worked in East Baton Rouge Parish School System for eight years before relocating to Shreveport. Today, she works as a Forensics Science and Digital Media Teacher at Huntington High School and owns her own photography company and studio, DaniLion Photography!
Damien’s Story
Damien Rashad Lewis was born and raised in Shreveport, where he attended Huntington High School, before graduating from Southern University A&M College in Baton Rouge in Mechanical Engineering. After working in the oilfield he became the 5th generation owner and chef of the Historic Orlandeaux’s Café.
Our Story
We met in 2019, in response to Dereka match making her two best friends. Damien was seen on an IG video stating he was looking for his “wife” and didn’t want to be the last un-married Line Brother standing! Mutual friends saw the video and pitched it to Dereka. She shot her shot in Damien’s DM! They hit it off immediately, bonding over a quarentined lock-in. Laying the foundation to a healthy relationship. They were engaged in April of 2025, and now they’re getting married!
